My Story.

I create visual meditation abstracts and Aum paintings as a decorative way to find my zen and help others find theirs, along with other assorted acrylic canvas paintings.

I was inspired to start creating my visual meditation abstracts after having a magical experience that helped me reach a beautiful zen state, which I now desire to try and reach again and again. They can be used to aid in visual meditation or as reminders to check in on your awareness and emotions.

Visual Meditation Abstract Paintings

For visual meditation practice, softly gaze into the painting as you focus on your breath and try to quiet the mind to reach a calm, peaceful state. Do this for as long as you're able and if your mind wanders or you lose focus, simply start again. Be gentle with yourself, the more you practice the easier it will become.

For awareness, simply try to pause for a moment when you see the painting throughout the day and check in with yourself. Where are your thoughts and emotions, are they in the present (not the past or future) and are they positive (not negative)? Try to make little adjustments as needed to reach a more happy, calm and peaceful state.

Aum Visual Meditation Paintings

My Aum paintings were inspired by a specific visual meditation techique:

Sit in a comfortable position with the painting at eye level and try to softly gaze at the Aum symbol without blinking. After a minute gently close your eyes and focus on the image of the symbol as it appears in your mind's eye. Hold the image for as long as you can and when the image is lost, slowly open your eyes and begin to gaze at the symbol again (tip: put the painting in the light of a candle or lightbulb to make the symbol glow, this helps imprint the image behind closed eyes). Try to do this for at least 15 minutes to help your mind become clear and sharp.

For awareness, the Aum paintings can also be used as decorative reminders to check in with your awareness and emotions whenever you see them.

Miscellaneous Paintings

I also have fun creating other miscellaneous paintings to try out different techniques, enhance my skills and gain more experience as I explore and discover what the artistic side of life has to offer and teach me.
